Who Are We?

The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization is an international, non-governmental organization dedicated to personal transformation and world renewal. Founded in 1937, the Brahma Kumaris has spread to over 140 countries and has consultative status with the United Nations.

The organization is for the most part a women-led movement, that imparts Raja Yoga Meditation knowledge β€” a comprehensive approach to help one realize the self, improve self-worth, apply positive thinking and self-control, and develop deep inner powers for a more fulfilled, purposeful life.

We believe that the right kind of self-care is utmost important in order to be a selfless giver. This is open to one and all, no matter which cultural, religious background or beliefs.

Our headquarters are situated in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, India. The Brahma Kumaris Edison Center at 4500 New Brunswick Ave, Piscataway, NJ 08854 serves the central New Jersey community with free meditation classes, public programs, and spiritual support.

Raja Yoga Meditation

Raja Yoga is an ancient form of meditation that focuses on understanding the self and cultivating a personal connection with the Supreme Soul. Unlike some meditation practices, Raja Yoga is practiced with eyes open, in a natural sitting position.

Through Raja Yoga, practitioners develop:

  • A deeper understanding of the self as a spiritual being
  • Inner peace and mental clarity
  • Positive thinking patterns and emotional resilience
  • Self-mastery and the ability to respond rather than react
  • A sense of purpose and direction in life
